The Brighton Children's House

A unique Montessori environment

Based in Queens Park, Brighton, and catering for children of between 2 years and 5 years of age, The Brighton Children's House is a unique nursery in having a staff to children ratio of one to four, with a maximum of twelve children.

The Montessori approach to education is concerned with the development of the whole child.  It is based on certain insights, such as the importance of opportunities to explore, be active and have hands-on experiences in the first 6 years of life. The most formative period.

A broad range of activities are on offer at this small and friendly Montessori based nursery, enabling children to build a strong foundation for life.

The Brighton Montessori Children's House nursery is a superb stepping stone between home and school. A small and intimate group of 12 children and 3 adults provides an ideal number for a nursery community, akin to an extended family setting.

The staff team are exceptionally skilled in their interactions with children. Their calm and positive nature helps children to thrive in an atmosphere of warmth, adventure, exploration, and friendly interaction.

Children’s love of outdoor space is well served by the nursery garden. It features a fabulous low level tree house, fantastic for climbing and den making, a sand pit, decked area, outdoor role play, ball games, picnics, ring games, and dance.

The Children's House nursery has a 'free-flow' philosophy. Children are free to spend as much time outside in the fresh air as they want. Or as much time indoors. There are no imposed timescales: children are encouraged to play and work at their own pace.

Each child has an individual development plan, designed to meet their needs, created in partnership with parents.

The Children’s House nursery is often over-subscribed and we recommend you contact us as soon as possible to discuss securing a place for your child.
